How do I choose between the CPRA and CPRM certifications?

The CPRA certification is designed for risk professionals with at least one year of experience, while the CPRM certification is designed for those with at least five years of experience in a middle or senior risk management role. The certification process is outlined here. If you are unsure which certification is right for you, you can submit your application and have it assessed by the RMIA panel.

Certification application for Risk NZ members

  • Fill in and submit the downloadable application form to [email protected] 
  • An invoice for the application fee of $75 will be forwarded on receipt of the application.
  • Risk NZ will process the application and provide RMIA with the completed application, CV and any supporting documents to provide to the Educational Working Group (EWG) to begin the certification process.
  • An RMIA EWG member will review the application and associated documents and to assess the application.
    o If required, the EWG member will follow up with the applicant with any questions and establish the applicants preparedness to proceed to the exam.
    o EWG advises RMIA HO and the applicant is sent the invitation to sit the exam or details of gaps required to be filled before sitting the exam.
  • Upon successful completion of the exam, RMIA will advise Risk NZ of the newly certified member and set up applicant in the RMIA database as a RNZ Certified CPRA/CPRM/CCRO and provide an invoice for certification fee.
  • Risk NZ certified members will be recorded as RMIA Associated Certified Members in the RMIA database.
