Mosque attack victims say they continue to be racially profiled at the border, despite themselves being the victims of the country’s first official terrorist crime.
The Royal Commission of Inquiry into the Christchurch mosque attacks reports there was “limited focus on right-wing extremism” before the March 15, 2019 atrocity, with Muslims being commonly stopped, interrogated and searched at the border.
Attack survivors have told Stuff this racial profiling continues, with one traveller asked if they had links to extremist jihadi group Isis.
