ABOUT THE ROLE – NGĀ ĀHUATANGA O TE TŪRANGA

Join us to become a key driving force towards developing our organisational risk management maturity to a place where risk management is inherent in all that we do; helping to ensure ‘eyes wide open’ decision making.

You will work alongside our Executive Team to provide our governors a deep understanding of our key risks, and apply your energy to drive practical, meaningful risk management across all levels of our organisation. You will confidently report progress of our improvement initiatives and risk status to our Executive Team and Risk and Assurance Committee.  Our governors will turn to you as a trusted advisor who can confidently share their specialist expertise.

You will develop, execute, and monitor our internal audit program, and facilitate proactive uptake of our risk framework and procedures.

As Risk Advisor you will fill a critical role in our Business Excellence team, helping to create a culture where we pursue opportunities, while still managing our risks within our risk appetite.

  • We are looking someone with demonstrated risk management capability and the energy to drive organisational-wide improvements.
  • You will have a sound working knowledge of internal audit and risk management practices, preferably in the local government environment.
  • You will be able to think strategically and confidently communicate using succinct reports and presentations.
  • You will thrive on influencing a range of people across our organisation, and get satisfaction from seeing our enhanced processes being effectively utilised.
  • You will have a tertiary qualification in relevant discipline e.g. quality management systems or business management.

If accepted by the Appointee, as per Taupo District Council’s Officer’s Collective Employment Agreement 2022/2024 or an Individual Employment Agreement

Days/Hours of Work Full Time:  40 hours per week, generally between the hours of 8am and 5pm, Monday to Friday

Remuneration:

Salary of $105,636 per annum to $124,278 per annum depending on qualifications, knowledge, and experience of the successful applicant

Annual Leave:

Four weeks paid leave on the completion of twelve months service in addition to statutory holidays (or 8% gross taxable income)
Three days special leave between Christmas and New Year.
5 weeks annual leave (inclusive of special leave) accrues after three years’ service
5.6 weeks annual leave (inclusive of special leave) accrues after five years’ service

Sick Leave: As per TDC’s Sick Leave policy

Other Conditions

• Negotiable upon appointment.
• Subject to a satisfactory Police Check
• Subject to a pre-employment drug test returning a negative result
