The Chief Risk Officer (CRO) is a newly created position due to organisational growth. It will be an integral part of a forward-looking Senior Leadership team responsible for achieving the FMT strategy, overall business performance and the provision of a high standard of service to key internal customers.
The CRO is responsible for providing strategic direction and effective management of the Credit Risk portfolio and Compliance functions. The position is also instrumental in ensuring quality property lending credit decisions through comprehensive assessment of applications, deriving decisions that balance risk with organisational growth, ultimately ensuring FMT’s long-term interests and assets are safeguarded.
To be considered for this role, you will demonstrate the following:
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in credit risk, compliance, and/or risk role within financial services
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience specifically in credit decisioning for property lending
- Exceptional communication skills – presenting, influencing, negotiating and problem solving
- Demonstrated ability and previous experience in leading, motivating, and coaching others
- Proven ability to understand complex information, use strong judgement and demonstrate sound decision making
- Strength in the ability to build credibility and instill confidence internally and externally
